Volume 9: Issue 3 – South African Public Relationship with Science Survey Special Samples

In 2022, the HSRC conducted the South African Public Relationship with Science (SAPRS) Survey. The main survey sample was drawn from 6442 households across the country’s nine provinces. The realised sample included a nationally representative sample of 5960 households, and 500 purposively selected, representative special samples in two locations, to explore the public’s science and technology knowledge, attitudes and engagements: • Four main towns in the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) footprint area in the Northern Cape. • The town of Cofimvaba in the Eastern Cape, which houses the Albertina Nontsikelelo Sisulu Science Centre.
